my project for Ingenuity:
capturing the physical monument and the fleeting moment
Mixed-media artist Vanessa LaValle has created a coloring book celebrating Ingenuity at the Detroit-Superior Bridge and is positioned near the East side of the Bridge with free coloring books and a Photo + Costume Booth for participants to dress in 1920's style clothing for a photo shoot. The best photographs will make it into the final coloring book that will be available after the event via email. In capturing the strength and graphic imagery of the bridge and combining it with the energy of the festival, this mixed-media coloring book will serve as a way for visitors to engage with Ingenuity on another level.
