Ingenuity Fest : Speakeasy

As some of you may or may not know, Ingenuity is coming, and as a local blogger I attended a tour of the Detroit-Superior Bridge Pedestrian Level. Photos will be posted eventually (see earlier blog post), but for now - content yourself with this press release about their fundraising Speakeasy:

INGENUITY ANNOUNCES JULY 23rd SPEAKEASY 2.0 EVENT
Fundraiser Invites Cleveland to Party Like It's 1929

CLEVELAND (May 14, 2010) -- Ingenuity will be hosting the one-night only Speakeasy 2.0 event on Friday, July 23rd in the West Side subway tunnels of the Detroit-Superior Bridge. This event offers guests a unique opportunity to experience music, dancing, drinks, and food in the rarely seen catacomb spaces of the bridge that open out to spectacular views of downtown.

This fundraiser begins at 6 PM with cabaret performances, classic cocktail classes, food, drinks, fun, and more. Tickets for this portion of the evening will be $100 with hors d'oeuvres and drinks included. At 9 PM the doors open for a more casual Party on the Bridge with DJs, drinks and dancing. Guests can enter for this part of the evening for only $20 which includes two drink tickets. Details and ticket information is available at www.ingenuitycleveland.com/speakeasy or by calling 216-589-9444.

Speakeasy Under the Bridge benefits IngenuityFest, Cleveland's cutting edge festival of arts, music, and technology. The festival will be held in 2010 from September 24th to 26th also on the lower level of the Detroit Superior Bridge, but in an expanded space that will cross the river into the East Side. Admission to the festival is free for the first time this year.

"Ingenuity has always been about creating fun and excitement in spaces within the city that are typically hidden, said, Jamie DeRosa, co-chair of the Ingenuity fundraising committee. This event gives people a chance to experience a hidden gem in Cleveland, enjoy some good food and music, and support an event that is a very good thing for the city."
